OK, so now that I am back to scrapping, I have started gallery surfing some of my fav rectangles out there. First stop I made was to the Digi Chick to visist Maggieandmommy's gallery. She has always been amongst my favs -- her style is clean yet full of emotion. Anyways, I was struck by this LO as it has wonderful pics and it also show how you can pull off multiple photos in a rectangle LO. Thanks for the inspiration!

New Year's Resolution

Wow, this blog started as a New Year Resolution in 2006 -- 2 years ago, so hard to believe. They last year and a half, well, it has been rough with the start of my photo business and the decline of my loved Mother in Law. I have tried many times to get back on the scrapping wagon ... and failed terribly each time. I used to scrap and share my LOs with my MIL -- and everytime I opened PS -- I just didn't know where to start and so many memories came back of scraps I had done and shared with her. Anyways, 2008 is a New Year and time to reintroduce me to the scrap world. I was sitting down with my daughter Cassidy a few evenings back going over her Brag Book. She will be 4 in March, and the last scrap was 21 Months. I felt just terrible -- yet at the same time, was inspired. So, here I am with a New Years Resolution -- time to get back into things.

So, for any of you out there, I finally opened Photoshop for something other then my Photo business (which is crazy busy if anyone cares) and scrapped. Wow, I was slow, and found it hard to get scrapping. Not sure if I am in love with these scraps, but they are done .. and I think are the beginning of a lot more to come (I hope). I may even find it in me to design! I am not rushing that one just yet.

So, hope you like the scraps and hopefully you will hear a lot from the new Me (who, I must share with you is 35 lbs lighter then in September lol)

Wow! I am back -- I hadn't even realized blog was gone until a few weeks ago -- and at that point I was in such a state that I was too sad to even think of starting again.

Let me fill you in with my summer:
Photogrpahy business has more the blossomed -- it is crazy busy.
My MIL entered into palliative care and lost her battle with Cancer Aug 23, 2007. It has been a very very sad time for everyone -- and when I saw this blog was gone, I felt even sadder. But now, I revived it - Wow!

So, I am starting to try to get myself back into the world of scrapping. I am going to start with catching up with my brag book for Cassidy. I hope that will help inspire me to design again -- I just open us PS lately and sit and stare. I have like a zillion awesome photos -- yet can't compel myself to start.

Now, this may be good news for any of you non-square scrappers as well -- as I will post my LOs and I may as well create a template to go with them. I don't know how often it will be as fall is still really busy with photos -- but I am hoping to jump right in.

If anyone is out there, and ever stops in to read this - -maybe it is in a feed of yours -- then Hello! Let me know you are out there :)

Quick Page Exchange

OK guys, I think I will start this ... I am not sure how many will participate, but even if we get a few it should be fun.

So, I would like to start a quickpage exchange -- we will make it every two weeks. You will have 2 weeks to get a quickpage into me -- and at the end of the two weeks I will compile them and send them out to all who particpate -- I will also show them off on my blog as I receive them :)

So, this exchange will last from now until Feb 12th and it will be using my SNOW CUTE kit - This is currently on Sale at SBE if you don't have it.

I have decided for this round, we will make the LO bragbook size. So, create your LO as 12X8 (so they can be resize down to 6X4 if needed)

Hello all,

I am thinking of doing a Quickpage exchange -- we could use my kits since I have no issues with them being exchanged. I would feature a kit and everyone who scrap a LO with it -- doesn't have to be rectangle, but that would be a bonus to me of course ;) Once you are done with your LO, you would send a copy to me -- at the end of the 2 weeks, everyone who submitted a LO would get a copy of the whole album of LOs.

Let me know if there is any interest in this -- just thought it may be something fun :)

OK, I made a NY Resolution once I got back into the swing of things, to start spotlighting rectangle LOs again. SO, today, I went looking -- I past by many great LOs from people I always 'pick' on like novita, mcardell, Plucky etc -- I wanted someone I hadn't seen before. Didn't take me long when I found this one -- I thought it was so cute -- and really different because it uses 'black' space instead of white space. The photo is adorable and the journaling is GREAT! I am back! Update on for you all - my MIL is still fighting. We had a marvelous Holiday Season with her -- she is doing as well as the Dr's expect of her..still not great but I think the Holidays and having everyone together was just what she needed. She is well enough to start a round of chemo treatments, so I guess that is a good sign.

It really means a lot to me -- this has been a stressful season between taking up photography during crazy busy Christmas Season (have been booked three sessions a week) and Dan's Mom being sick there has been no room to even breathe. I really miss designing and haven't put out a kit is EONS.

I had to leave 3scraps, because I just couldn't keep up with the commitments required and manage everything else.

BUT -- I just put my store on Sale at SOTB for the next week! :) So, if you guys are looking for something of mine at SOTB this may be the time to get it :) (This includes my layered sketches!)

Hey guys,

I wanted to drop a note to apologize for being MIA -- my Mother in Law is quite ill -- she was hospitalized and we didn't think she would make it through the last few weeks (she has ovarian cancer -- had a 16 lb tumour removed 2 years ago and it is back and she is also going thought renal failure (and they don't know why). Anyways, she has been released as they did more treatments and gave her another shunt for kidney -- but she still isn't doing well and prefered to be in the comfort of her home. We are all hoping she last through Christmas.

OK, MIL is finally home from hospital -- they had to do surgery to put in some shunts for her kidneys and gave her 2 blood tranfusions as well. Anyways, hopefully I will have some more time now to be a better blogger.

Dan's mom was admitted to the hospital -- ever since her last chemo treatment, she has been really sick. She lost close to 40 lbs in 4 weeks -- so they have her on IV finally and are running tests to see what is up. Also, have had PC problems, so between all this have been MIA. I will be adding a new sketch later today.

Check out Christine Nash's rectangles at ACOT. Christine is a good friend of mine and well recognized for her awesome stitching (which you can find here). Christine's templates work with all programs (which I must say, which is why I added PNGs to my last sketch)

OOOH, I don't usually took my own horn, but I am digging my recent ads to SBE -- These GIANT Letter Patches are pretty cool! I am doing a LO for each letter of Cassidy's room and hanging them -- I plan on putting a different pic from birth -- spaced about 6 months apart. I will be doing them in Pink and Purple as we just painted her new room. But, you can see the sample one I did -- which is pretty kewl too. Each letter is about 10X10, plus you get all the accessories as well -- Get the whole set for $5.95 - Go Check it out!!

I also added a mini called Pretty as a Princess -- I am thinking I will be using this kit for her letters, I am not 100% sure yet, I am letting her "pick" so who knows what this 2.5 year old will pick - only $3.95 - Come check it out!

CT SPotlight - mcardall

OK, I have some really awesome CT members - in fact, I think I have the best CT ever! PLUS a lot of them are rectangle scrappers or do both.. is that a coincidence? I am not sure, most of them have been with me since my very first CT call more then a year ago. Oddly, 3 of them have a DD around the same age as Cassidy too lol. They are all super nice, super supportive and I want to show them off to you. I think they will inspire you like they do me. So, I will spotlight them over the next week or so -- You squares out there -- I have some awesome Square LOs I will show you as well!

OK, Can ya tell I missed my blog while I was busy at work? Here is another small gift -- it is a quick page (insert your photo beneath the PNG layer) using my Catch Some Coral Kit at SBE and the Layered Sketch you can find below (I renewed the link BTW). It is 12X8, so when you save it after you put your photo in, resize it to 6X4 and add it to the brag book I know you are all STARTING for Christmas hehe

hey all -- woohoo! My gifts were popular today -- already more then 100 downloads each. I have the files on my laptop @ work -- when I get to work in the am, I will reload both the layered template and the story board :)

OK, since I have been taking my photoclass, I am trying to think of presentations of just the photos -- without scrapping them lol (I am finding sometimes my scraps are so pretty I am losing the focus on the picture). So, here is a Story Board I just did up to display 3 5X7s -- it is 10 X20 and I found some frames easily to fit this size and just signed up @ a spot that will print this size as well. Woohoo.

So, me being the nice person I am (ha ha), I decided to share with you :) As always, would love to see any story board you create with it :)

OK, I am BACK!

Now, I have been wanting to do layered sketchs for a long time, and never got around to it. Now, since I have been beaten to the punch, I will swallow my pride and do it anyways! Since I am a die-hard rectangle, and I am sticking to what I know. So, hopefully my niche is out there. I will be converting a lot of my sketches as time goes on -- but every week, I will also give my bloggers the newest template here free :)

So, don't hit me, but Christmas is coming up. So, I am going to focus on my ever so popular 6X4 Brag Books -- I want you to build yours with me! I promise, if you make one of these and give it out as a gift at Christmas, you will be SUPER SUPER popular. I certainly was -- and what an afforable gift considering you can print 6X4s for as low as 15-20 cents each!

So, here it is, this week's sketch -- JPG version and layered sketch as well. The layered sketch is 12X8 (so you don't have to constantly resize your paper and elements) so when you save your final work, you can resize it down to 6X4 :)

Thanks for sharing guys, it was a GREAT pick me up! I realized it wasn't just I was exhausted yesterday, but had my monthly visitor come this morning -- so that must have been the extra blues (and super sensitivity).

So, I am getting ready to dive right back into things (I had half thought I wanted a break from scrapping yesterday -- lol, told ya I was being super sensitive (I had applied at SBB but didn't make the cut so was having a pity party lol) -- Glad I came to my senses. 3Scraps is having a huge BASH soon -- so I am hoping to get some things up for it and a super wicked Sale.

So, if anyone has any ideas for great kits, let me know, send me a color swatch -- if I make something with your swatch/theme, I will give it to ya free :)

Woohoo! The project I am on cut last night -- went fairly smooth. Can't wait to be able to focus again on scrapping and blogging and designing. I have only had a few hours sleep (was up til 4) and then Cassidy was awake at 6 (I decided to keep her for the day and work from home). So, not too well rested.

Dunno if it is lack of sleep, but I am kinda in a downer mood -- someone share some LO links of great work you have done to cheer me up if anyone is reading. I haven't designed anything in what seems like ages, I haven't scrapped and I have TONS of pics since i have been taking my photo class.

Well, hope you all have an awesome day -- be on the look-out for more frequent updates from me :)

I have been crazy busy with work still -- Aug 17th is cut date -- can't wait til it is over lol.
I have been busy repackaging and loading my stuff into Scrapbook-elements AND trying to work on new kits as well. Also, trying to send out ADS, man I suck at that!
